Manchester United are reportedly one of the front runners to land Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister this summer. The Argentina World Cup winner has impressed with his performances for the Seagulls this season, catching the attention of several Premier League clubs.
Despite Liverpool and Chelsea also being named as potential destinations for the midfielder, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that United and the Reds are currently the two front runners for his signature.
Romano also suggested that if former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino takes over at Chelsea, it could help to sway Mac Allister’s decision. However, for now, it seems to be a two-horse race between United and Liverpool.
Mac Allister’s father recently confirmed that the player will be with a new club by July, and it’s no surprise that several top-flight teams are vying for his services. With midfielder Jude Bellingham reportedly out of the market and set to join Real Madrid, demand for the Brighton star will only increase.
At Old Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to strengthen his midfield, and Mac Allister’s impressive displays for Brighton this season have caught the Norwegian’s attention. His manager at the Seagulls, Roberto De Zerbi, has also hailed the 23-year-old as a top player and an important member of his squad.
It remains to be seen which club Mac Allister will ultimately decide to join, but one thing is for sure – with several Premier League giants vying for his signature, he has plenty of options to choose from.
