Sunderland tracking talented forward Hassan

Reports have emerged that Sunderland is keeping track of Villarreal’s young forward, Haissem Hassan, ahead of a potential move to the Championship. Sunderland has a history of signing and supporting young players, especially those born overseas in France. They have identified 21-year-old Hassan as another potential candidate to add to their squad.

The promising winger currently plays for the B side of Villarreal in La Liga and has attracted interest from multiple clubs across Europe. With less than 18 months left on his contract, Sunderland is keen to secure his services for the 2023/24 season. Other clubs, including Brentford, Udinese, Anderlecht, Eibar, Alaves, Bordeaux, and RC Lens, are reportedly interested in completing a deal for the Frenchman.

Talent scout Jacek Kulig has described Hassan as a “quality” player and could be an excellent signing for the future. Hassan has already clocked up 11 assists and scored five goals, highlighting his potential at such a young age. He has also shown his versatility to play in five different positions, including both flanks, which will be useful for the Black Cats in case of any unexpected injuries.

Despite completing loan spells throughout his career, Hassan has already made his senior first-team debut in La Liga, which makes him an ideal candidate to step up and perform at the highest level. Sunderland will have to compete with several clubs to acquire Villarreal’s young gem, but he could be a significant addition to their squad.
