Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag is not concerned about Wout Weghorst’s poor form in front of goal. Despite United’s lack of options at striker, Ten Hag admires the 30-year-old’s contributions to the team. Weghorst has been called a “warrior” by his former Burnley teammate Josh Brownhill, and it’s clear to see why. The Dutchman finds himself inside the upper second percentile for interceptions and blocks, and in the top 14th percentile for tackles made per 90 minutes. Although statistically Weghorst’s returns for United have been poor, Ten Hag values his all-around game and the work he puts in for the team. United are still in a solid position to end their first campaign under Ten Hag on a high note, having already brought one trophy to Old Trafford this season.
